Rocket Software UniObjects for Python GA

UniObjects for Python (UOPY) is a Python package available to all Rocket UniVerse and Rocket UniData users for free through The Python Package Index (PyPI). UOPY is a client-side Python API that helps companies attract and retain new programming talent by enabling the rapid development of new applications. As a resource available to all developers, UOPY is a robust, accessible tool that simplifies the addition of features to existing Rocket MultiValue applications.

The introduction of UOPY gives users a powerful, full stack Python solution that is cost effective and provides greater flexibility to development teams. Programmers can now develop full stack in a single, modern language, use the entire Python ecosystem with many third-party libraries, and remotely access MultiValue servers in Python. The Pythonic interface and capabilities of UOPY allow organizations to spend less time and money developing, maintaining, and supporting their applications.

“We’re happy to deliver full stack Python integration with Rocket MultiValue servers. While we’ve offered Python as a native programming language for years, client-side UOPY completes the stack,” said Christine Rizza, Rocket’s MultiValue Product Manager. “Prior to release we ran a robust beta program where we asked customers to download and play with code. Over a series of weeks, we got customer feedback and answered their questions. At the end of the beta, we surveyed the participants. I’m pleased to say our beta participants were not only very enthusiastic, but 100 percent recommended UOPY as ready to be released. And the first day UOPY was available on PyPI, over 70 customers downloaded it.”
